Many of the 3D Qlone scans in this work, including my sampler, synthesizer, and record crates, are tools that live in my studio, where I spend most of my time outside school creating music. The donuts represent loops (musical ideas used to create songs) and reference J Dilla’s album, “Donuts” (a seminal work in sample-based music). I created the donuts on the top of the piece using Blender and used photos of the sky taken outside my studio as their textures.
