The animated characters found in the film are constructed from 3D scans of tools and industrial materials belonging to my father and grandfather (both of whom were carpenters by trade); these materials express the influence of my paternal lineage and contrast the tools I use to create with those used by my father and grandfather. The video elements in my piece were captured by iPhone over the last two years, representing moments of personal importance and beauty as well as giving a glimpse into my perspective and subconscious. The surveillance footage contrasts these videos by displaying my mundane comings and goings. I composed the music included in the video to be synced to the footage, with the characters appearing to view the videos suspended in space and help with the musical composition..
